What Toilets Should Be Added?

We’re looking for toilets that a random, slightly desperate human can walk into and use without negotiation.

Good examples:

• Public toilet blocks
• Toilets in train stations, bus stations, airports, petrol/service stations
• Shopping centre toilets
• Toilets in libraries, museums, hospitals, town halls, and other public buildings
• Toilets in businesses that allow the public to use them without buying anything

Basically, if you can walk in, do your business, and leave without performing social gymnastics, it belongs on the map.

What We Try to Avoid

We usually skip toilets that require:

• Buying a coffee first
• Asking for permission
• Pretending to be a customer

The one exception is platform toilets at train stations. Yes, you need a ticket — but if you're already traveling, that information can still save the day.

The Simple Test

Before adding a toilet, ask yourself:

“Could a stranger use this without creating an awkward situation?”

If yes → Add it.
If it requires a €6 latte → Maybe don’t.
